Ad Fundum takes you deep into the world of dieselpunk, where exploration, resource gathering and survival are the key to success. In the title, you control a massive mech tasked with digging through layers of rock to discover valuable minerals and hidden secrets. However, the journey will not be easy. Each step requires close attention to the condition of the ‘Mech, as overheating, lack of fuel or even falling debris can lead to an abrupt end to the expedition.
The core mechanics of Ad Fundum revolve around the balance between gathering resources and managing the health of your sword. As you dig deeper, you’ll encounter various environmental hazards, including earthquakes that shake the area. This constant threat gives missions a special edge, as reward sometimes comes at the cost of risk. Between drilling, collecting, and surviving, you’ll also need to keep an eye out for ancient artifacts and remnants of past expeditions. With their help, you can unlock special upgrades that will change the control of your fur.
Your base is another important aspect. Starting from a neglected state, it requires money and resources to restore and improve. These upgrades not only improve mining efficiency, but also unlock new abilities for your sword, making it more capable of taking on more challenging tasks as you progress. With each upgrade, ‘Mechs transform from simple tools into complex machines.
