Game Description
Air Defender is a strategic command simulator that puts full responsibility for the safety of the nation’s airspace on the user’s shoulders. Gameplay focuses on making critical decisions under time pressure when an unidentified contact appears on the radar. It is necessary to quickly determine its nature, distinguishing a civilian aircraft from a real threat, and, if necessary, issue orders for the departure of duty fighters. Every action has far-reaching consequences, and the cost of a mistake can be catastrophic for the entire country. The project proposes to take the place not of a pilot, but of the head of the entire defensive network, coordinating actions from the command bunker.
Successful completion of missions requires careful management of entrusted resources, including control of fuel and weapons reserves at air bases. Air Defender requires smart deployment of interceptor aircraft, such as the Tornado F3, and directing them to carry out combat patrols or escort suspicious targets. AWACS airborne early warning aircraft also play an important role, capable of significantly expanding the visibility area and compensating for gaps in ground coverage. Effective defense of air borders relies on the coordinated work of all components of the defensive infrastructure.
Radar detection network:
Saxa Vord is a station that provides early warning of airborne threats from the north. Buchan is a key node for monitoring activity over the North Sea. Portreath is a strategic post controlling the approaches from the southwestern flank. Benbecula is a facility that expands radar coverage in the Atlantic sector.
All activities are carried out using a detailed interface that simulates an operator console. Gamers will have to analyze data from the friend-or-foe identification system, study the flight plans of civilian ships and use electronic reconnaissance equipment to get a complete picture of what is happening. The enemy, controlled by artificial intelligence, acts unpredictably, constantly testing the strength of the defense and adapting its tactics, which creates a high level of tension throughout the entire session.
