Game Description
Ambidextro puts the user in the place of a royal wizard, tasked with rescuing the prince and princess from the clutches of the witch. However, the challenge goes beyond simple navigation. The Wizard has been split into two parts, forcing the gamer to control both halves independently of each other. Each hand controls a different character, requiring precise coordination to overcome obstacles and reunite the two parts before time runs out.
Mastering this dual control system becomes essential as levels become more challenging, requiring a heightened sense of spatial awareness and split-second decision making. Ambidextro is set in a medieval setting imbued with magic, and consists of a series of single-screen platforming levels. Traps, moving platforms and shifting hazards test the player’s ability to control two separate but interconnected movements.
The game’s structure remains linear, with each level being its own puzzle that must be solved using time and sleight of hand. As you progress through the title, the difficulty curve sharpens, introducing elements that require simultaneous jumps, synchronized dodging, and perfectly timed landings. The mechanics are based on responsive controls, making the gamepad an ideal tool for split body control. The levels are designed to engage both sides of the brain, encouraging users to develop ambidexterity as needed.
