The protagonist wakes up in a secluded hut in the middle of a silent taiga, deprived of any memories of his past. The surrounding reality, known as the Wasteland, is subject to a strict cycle of day and night. Daylight hours provide an opportunity to prepare and gather resources, while as darkness falls, the icy desert becomes filled with hostile entities. The feeling of constant threat and isolation forces you to carefully plan every action in order to survive one more day and get closer to solving the mystery of your own origin.

The process of exploring the world is built on elements of roguelite, where each failure is not a final defeat, but becomes a lesson. Death opens up access to new knowledge and craft recipes, allowing you to move further with each new attempt. The narrative in ANGST: A TALE OF SURVIVAL unfolds through quests that gradually shed light on the mysterious past of this place.
