Delving into her mind from a first-person perspective, the participants share her doubts and feelings of social isolation. The plot reveals a complex family drama in which Annie and her children are forced to switch roles as caregivers after she moves away from her home.
As her children disagree over how best to manage their care, Annie’s mind begins to resurface with long-forgotten images of her late brother. The exploration of her life occurs through interaction with letters, dialogues and memorabilia that gradually clarify the tense relationships within the family. As Long As You’re Here is a sensitive reflection on the topic of living with dementia, telling a story of regret and difficult family ties.
