Game Description
Asbury Pines is a narrative incremental title where, in order to solve the mystery of a brutal murder, it is necessary to build production cycles that span the entire history of the town. The gameplay is based on the synthesis of the efforts of more than 50 unique creatures, artifacts and even plants. The union of the labor of such dissimilar personalities as the caveman Hrokk and the temporal physicist Moharan makes it possible to create and modify a complex mechanism for extracting resources. The effectiveness of this system directly affects the speed of gaining access to new fragments of the narrative, which gradually shed light on the dark mystery. The development of automated production loops between the past and the future becomes the main tool in the hands of a time-traveling detective.
The plot centers on a brutal crime that shakes a small town to its very core. The investigation at Asbury Pines goes beyond the usual detective genre, as the mystery stretches back into the distant past and into the distant future. Events unfold over 12 different eras, starting with the late Stone Age. It is necessary to collect evidence and information bit by bit in order to ultimately piece together a complete picture of what happened and understand the motives behind this mysterious crime. Each era adds new details and characters, making it more complex and at the same time bringing us closer to the solution.
The world of the project is inhabited by residents known as Pini, who move the investigation forward with their personal stories and memories. Their experiences and observations are presented in more than 350 short stories. These disparate fragments, obtained from documents, conversations and even the thoughts of animals, are gradually woven into a single fabric. Thus, the development of production chains is inextricably linked with the revelation of secrets and a deep dive into the rich history of this unusual place, where each resident may be the key to understanding the tragedy.
