B-17 Flying Fortress: The Mighty 8th Redux puts you in the cockpit of a legendary World War II bomber. Take command of a 10-person crew and survive the dangerous missions they carried out over Nazi-occupied Europe. In this remake of the classic flight simulator, you can develop an attack strategy, select a crew, and then act in all positions on board - from piloting a huge aircraft to operating machine guns. The game offers several options for completing the campaign. You can jump right into the action with quick starter missions, or delve deeper into historical campaigns. Hone your skills in training missions, and then try to repeat real bombing missions. The project features updated visual design and interface for more complete immersion in the game.
Current improvements include updated B-17 interiors, new crew models, and a modernized interface that does away with the outdated comic sans font. Music adds atmosphere to the menus, and the front menus and airfield interiors have also been updated. The game has switched from a 4:3 aspect ratio to the 16:9 widescreen standard, which makes the gameplay more comfortable. The role of the navigator has been enhanced thanks to improved terrain rendering, allowing you to see further into the distance. Under the hood of B-17 Flying Fortress: The Mighty 8th Redux, the original engine has been tweaked to provide smoother frame rates and better performance on modern computers.
