Game Description

Beat Invaders mixes shmup with roguelike and rhythm game. This arcade game is made in 2.5D. It has 3D graphics, but the camera is on top most of the time. The user controls the spaceship. In the story, he accompanies space cargo ships that deliver music tracks to interstellar clubs. A horde of music-hating enemies prevents the convoy from traveling across the galaxy. The user’s task: to protect ships along with their cargo and destroy enemy equipment. Shootouts with enemies in this video game are accompanied by an EDM-style soundtrack. The adversaries move and shoot to the beat of the compositions. There are 22 tracks in total. With each round, the melodies become faster, and the enemies speed up and gain new abilities.

In terms of gameplay, the indie title is reminiscent of the arcade classic Space Invaders. In Beat Invaders, enemies attack in waves. In addition to regular fights, there are boss battles and small events. In between battles and events, the gamer can upgrade his vehicle and its subsystems. He is allowed to redistribute improvements if desired. With their help, you can increase the spread of bullets, increase the rate of fire, restore the body, and speed up reloading. The player controls his ship using a gamepad, keyboard or mouse. The aircraft is able to move left and right and shoot upward within the screen. It is necessary not only to destroy rivals, but also to protect space trucks. If they all explode, the user will be considered defeated. As he progresses, new classes of starships and additional difficulty levels open up.
