Game Description
BIRDCAGE is a fast-paced bullet hell shooter where gameplay focuses on unique sword mechanics to fend off attacks and destroy enemies. The project takes inspiration from the arcade classics of the 90s, offering a polished combat system and stylized graphics. The pilot is required not only to dodge hundreds of projectiles, but also to actively use the blade to break through enemy squadrons. The title requires high concentration and sharp reflexes to survive in the chaos of battles.
The plot takes place in the year 2342, when humanity is divided into two factions: SELENE, which controls the Earth, and RADON, which controls the space colony CAGE. The latter, under the leadership of Mother ROENTGEN, creates a superweapon WORLD-EGG, capable of giving birth to a new universe at the cost of destroying the old one. At the epicenter of the BIRDCAGE conflict is a pilot who has awakened in the experimental ship HALCYON. A mysterious voice in his mind gives the only order - to destroy the created threat.
The pilot has two unique ships at his disposal. The HALCYON is a fast and maneuverable fighter equipped with a sword that can be used for both close combat and as a projectile. An alternative is the CEYX, which is slower but armed with homing missiles and the GRAZE system, which fires salvos when approaching enemy bullets. Both vessels have switchable firing modes between wide spread and focused beam, and can also activate Hyperblade mode.
The adventure unfolds over 6 stages where you will face dozens of bosses, including enemies such as THESIS and ARCHE. In addition to the story campaign, there is an arcade mode and a Score Attack competition. For a deeper immersion into the history of the world, the DRYAD database is intended, where records about characters, technologies and events of the universe are opened for the in-game currency NEURO.
