Game Description
Casebook 1899 - The Leipzig Murders places detective Joseph Kreiser at the center of four murder investigations in the industrial city of Leipzig. The events take place at the turn of the 20th century, and the storyline requires careful study of various locations in search of evidence relevant to each case. Players navigate the city, interact with its inhabitants, and directly interrogate witnesses and potential suspects. The main goal is to collect important information and physical evidence associated with each murder, while solving environmental mysteries.
The gameplay of Casebook 1899 - The Leipzig Murders is based on two key tools for organizing the information collected. The personal notebook contains pages for each scene, cataloging all observations and witness statements for later use in formulating a hypothesis. Subsequently, the information obtained can be combined on a separate board for deduction. This action opens up new leads and helps the player sequence the events of each crime on the list of suspects, allowing for a methodical investigation.
The player’s conclusions directly influence the development of the plot and the outcome of four separate cases. Having collected evidence and compared the facts, it is necessary to determine the person who appears guilty. These critical choices in each case determine the final outcome, leading to multiple possible endings for the entire story. The project includes German voice acting to maintain the historical atmosphere, as well as subtitles in English, German and Italian. Deductive skills become a key tool for solving urban murders.
