Game Description

Castle of Heart Retold is a dark action platformer that immerses you in the world of Slavic mythology, where the brave warrior Swaran challenges the sinister Sorcerer. A powerful sorcerer, a servant of the dark god Chernobog, kidnapped the hero’s beloved, priestess Mira, and placed a terrible curse on Svaran himself and his village, turning everyone to stone. However, Mira’s tear, which fell on the warrior’s petrified body, partially weakened the spell, giving him a chance to save his beloved and take revenge. Now Swaran must fight his way through hordes of enemies before his body finally crumbles into dust.

The main mechanics of the project are tied to a curse that constantly takes away the hero’s health. To survive, you must constantly fight, because killing enemies and collecting special items is the only way to slow down petrification. If Swaran’s energy drops to a critical level, he will begin to lose limbs, which will limit his ability to use powerful weapons. The journey to Castle of Heart: Retold runs through four unique locations: from the petrified village to the Sorcerer’s Castle.

On the way, the warrior will meet mythological creatures, including devils, ghouls and watermen. The hero can use dozens of types of melee and ranged weapons, from axes and torches to spears and crossbows. This re-release of the original game has completely redesigned the combat system, improved graphics and controls, and re-recorded the soundtrack. The plot was expanded: dialogues were rewritten, and cutscenes were created anew. Adventurers can collect Mokosh Crystals to unlock alternate endings and discover the full story of Swaran and Mira.
