Game Description

Chrysalis is a roguelike strategy game whose gameplay is divided into two contrasting phases. Initially, the protagonist, in the guise of a disembodied spirit, explores procedurally generated locations, inhabiting friendly creatures and collecting resources. After the timer expires, the calm garden atmosphere is replaced by an ominous one, and waves of aggressive monsters appear on the map. From this moment, the defense stage begins, requiring the use of all accumulated forces and tactical skills to repel attacks. The main task is to protect a valuable object from destruction.

Only one creature can be taken under direct control, but over time the protagonist is able to acquire followers who will help in battle. Before the start of each passage, Chrysalis offers to choose one of the available types of cocoon, which determines the starting conditions and style of passage. The death of a controlled creature does not lead to the end of the session, since the spirit can simply find a new host. However, the destruction of the central object means inevitable defeat and the need to start all over again, using the experience gained.

Ally development mechanics:

Metamorphosis - increasing the level of controlled creatures with their subsequent transformation into more powerful forms. Mutation is the combination of different species to create new hybrids with unique sets of abilities. Gifts are random bonuses received for reflecting enemy waves and providing passive or active skills.
