The heroes of the adventure will need to explore gloomy rooms, trying to solve the mystery of the dark past. The locations are various old houses. A network game is aimed at interaction between participants. You need to plan your tactics, acting both as a team and splitting up to solve certain problems. The free-to-play option in Dark Past invites everyone to take control of a unique hero with their own individual abilities and equipment.

While exploring the mansion, you can lose control of your character, as evil spirits can enter the protagonists' bodies. You can interact with ghosts using a microphone. This function can be used both for tactical purposes, and vice versa - to allow yourself to be detected. Enemies may not cause harm if you are polite to them. If you win over a paranormal entity, it will be able to fulfill your requests. At the start of a match, each player can customize their hunter individually. The appearance, basic parameters of the character are set and equipment is selected. You will need to fight several types of ghosts, including the Shadow, Poltergeist and Demon. There are 3 difficulty levels to choose from. Each of them has special objectives and mechanics that change the type of gameplay.
