Game Description

Day of the Shell is a tactical roguelike where strategic decisions and their results are executed with one click per turn. In this world, the deities unleashed their power, leaving behind only a network of remote islands surrounded by water. The main character is a lone monster hunter, armed with a revolver and pursuing a clear goal. Traveling through a shattered world, she intends to challenge the entities that caused the cataclysm. Moving forward requires the player to carefully plan and allocate resources.

Gameplay in Day of the Shell revolves around exploration and combat across a series of diverse islands. To move forward, the heroine must survive clashes with monsters and collect treasures that activate the portal. This passage serves as the only path to the next area. The final task is to reach the center of the archipelago and destroy a special object called the Shell. The gamer forms his own fighting style by combining the powers of the Guardian’s numerous blessings, creating unique builds for each race.

Failure is an integral part of adventure, because defeat does not mean the end. After each death, the hunter returns to her home island - a permanent central location. From here, she can apply permanent enhancements that are saved for future attempts. This mechanic allows you to reconsider your chosen tactics or build before starting your next campaign. The cycle of exploration, failure, and improvement defines the progression in this game.
