Game Description

Death Howl is a tactical card roguelike with soulslike elements, where battles with otherworldly entities take place in arenas divided into square cells. Each move requires informed decisions, because the outcome of the fight depends on the correct use of cards with attacking and defensive skills. You will have to confront not only ordinary spirits, but also powerful bosses, defeating which will require a deep understanding of their behavior. Defeat here does not mean the end, but serves only as the next stage of learning, forcing you to reconsider your strategy and deck composition.

At the center of the story is a hunter named Ro, who refuses to accept the loss of her son and goes to the spirit world to save him. The process of exploring the gloomy world, made in the style of the Scandinavian Stone Age, is directly related to the gameplay. In Death Howl, each new area, be it the Forest of Howling Shadows or the Meadows of Delusion, unlocks unique maps. This allows gamers to collect ingredients and create new elements for their deck, gradually increasing their combat potential.

The deck customization options go beyond simply creating cards. A special role is played by shamanic totems - artifacts that give the deck additional passive and active properties, which adds even greater tactical variety. As the story progresses, pieces of Ro’s personal story are revealed, touching on themes of grief, healing, and resilience. Thus, each defeated opponent not only brings the heroine closer to her goal, but also becomes part of her metaphorical path to accepting loss.
