Game Description
Death Road to Canada is a zombie apocalypse game. It differs from other projects on this topic in its gameplay and humor. It’s a mixture of beat ‘em up and roguelike. The premise here is simple: in the USA, the dead began to rise from their graves and eat living people. After which their victims were also resurrected. The remainder of the population decided to move to Canada because this country was not affected by the epidemic.
The gamer’s goal: to reach a neighboring state in 15 days. Preferably the whole team. The user starts with a squad of two people. As you progress, the team can be increased to a maximum of 3 creatures. The range of travelers is not limited to ordinary people. There are Mexican wrestlers, pop culture characters and even dogs.
Gameplay in Death Road to Canada is divided into a couple of phases. The first is a decision-making simulator. The camera here is located on the side. The user watches the car move along the highway and makes choices in text-based random events. When you have to explore a location, the game switches to the second mode.
In it, with a top-down view, the player, alone or accompanied by 1-2 partners, searches for loot and fights with the undead on randomly generated maps. In residential buildings, offices, supermarkets, shops, police stations and other buildings you can find weapons or resources: gasoline, food and first aid kits. Sometimes you can find a new car. To leave the level, you need to start the car. This is implemented as a QTE.
Battles take place in real time. You can beat the evil spirits with your fists, melee weapons (axes, bats, knives, swords, hammers, cutlery, chair legs) or shoot them with shotguns, pistols, rifles. When swinging a stick, the hero loses some of his strength. Endurance shows on their faces. A tired character will appear red and sweat will start dripping from their head. In such a situation, you need to stop fighting for a few seconds and take a breath.
