Deceived Of Joy is a psychological horror, the events of which unfold in the mind of an inhabitant of a residential complex, faced with a complete distortion of the familiar world. The cause of the nightmarish metamorphosis is the cessation of taking a special drug known as the Miracle Pill. This substance has long masked the depressing reality, effectively suppressing doubts and sorrows. Now the protagonist’s environment is deformed, giving rise to dangerous creatures and illusions that do not obey the laws of physics. Walls can take on anomalous features, and gravity ceases to be a constant value, plunging the hero into the abyss of madness.
Everything that happens is shown from a first-person perspective, which enhances the immersion effect. The passage of Deceived Of Joy is based on exploring locations and solving riddles, often related to the search and use of utilitarian objects. The main task is not to directly confront threats, but to survive. The hero needs to escape from his pursuers and find ways to advance through the plot in order to return to normal life. To survive in this nightmare, the protagonist will have to:
use fire to illuminate dark corridors; avoid direct contact with hostile entities; find useful tools like a fire axe; use elements of the environment to scare away monsters.
