Game Description
Drill Rift is a constant balancing act between survival and complete failure while managing a remote drilling outpost. Diving into a mysterious rift is fraught with enormous risk, as the process of drilling into ever deeper layers of rock inexorably affects the minds of the dwarves. The growing insanity serves as a kind of beacon for monsters hiding in the impenetrable darkness of the dungeons, turning every foray into a deadly undertaking. Having started an expedition with only four workers and a minimal set of supplies, the player immediately feels the fragility of his position, where any mistake could be the last.
All outpost activities are built around the competent distribution of scarce supplies and timely modernization of equipment. Every decision made in Drill Rift has long-term consequences for the entire mission. A special layer of gameplay is the incident system, which requires workers to be sent to resolve them, where success depends on the characteristics of the selected gnome, which influence the outcome of the dice roll. To ensure the viability of the colony it is necessary to constantly:
engage in the construction and improvement of key mechanisms. exercise strict control over limited stocks. carefully assign gnomes to tasks, protecting their health and sanity. improve the qualifications and level of their students.
