Game Description

Forsaken Frontiers offers a unique online gaming experience where players find themselves in a world of eternal winter where teamwork and wits depend on survival. Up to 12 people can participate in online play, each of whom is placed on board a train, which serves as a base for traveling through procedurally generated locations. Here you can play for free with a friend, even as a pirate, exploring subways, hotels, hospitals, maintenance tunnels and abandoned Pentagon facilities.

A proximity-based communication system gives co-op play a strategic feel. When team members disperse, their voices are lost with distance, forcing teams to stick together or risk losing touch at critical moments. The minimalistic interface condenses vital information into a wrist-mounted computer called the DataDeck, allowing players to stay focused on their surroundings. The 3D audio system captures every footstep and echo, turning sound into a vital survival tool.

Players retain persistent characters across all play sessions and servers, building their experience with each playthrough. The game offers three different ways to play through: Endless Mode challenges teams to gather resources to cope with a mounting debt, Nightmare Mode ramps up the intensity of the game for veteran players, and Escape Mode challenges teams to find an elevator on the surface while finding supplies . In between missions, the train gives you the opportunity to rest before your next expedition into the frozen wasteland.
