Half Sword offers a physics-based medieval combat simulation, showcasing 15th-century weapons and armor based on historical designs. This project details the physical results of medieval combat, including detailed scenes of blood and wounds. Gamers control the movements of the blade directly with the mouse, which simulates the sensations of striking and parrying in virtual space. This mechanic is the basis of the gameplay, allowing you to participate in duels and larger battles.

In Half Sword, you begin as a commoner seeking to become a knight through winning tournaments that take place in recreated locations in Europe from that period. The combat system applies physical calculations to the interaction of weapons, armor and bodies, trying to convey the characteristics of mastery of various means of defense and attack. Information from experts in Historical European Martial Arts (HEMA) formed the basis for the development of the combat system and character movements. Learning the special techniques necessary to win occurs through training and direct participation in fights.

Successful survival in battle brings glory and funds, giving you the opportunity to buy new equipment or forge your own armor and weapons. You can select equipment to suit your preferred fighting style. There is an opportunity to bet on your success in fights, adding an element of risk for a potential increase in loot. Since the game functions as a simulator, the death of a character is final for the current session, irrevocably ending his development.
