Game Description

Helicopter Gunship DEX offers the experience of piloting combat helicopters. Players take control of rotorcraft, navigating and using weapons during combat encounters. This project contains elements of simulation games from the nineties, adapted for modern platforms. A key feature is the direct control of guidance systems, including containers and radar, while piloting the aircraft during mission execution.

A special algorithm procedurally creates missions, offering different goals and tactical conditions. The built-in random mission generator in Helicopter Gunship DEX generates missions including Strike, Suppression of Enemy Air Defense (SEAD), Search and Destroy, Recon, and Transport. These missions pose unique operational challenges for the player. The Deployment Points mechanic determines departure parameters, influencing equipment selection and maintaining balance in different scenarios.

This approach assigns cost points to the sides and weapons, which affects the choice of equipment for the specific conditions of the operation. You can pilot the car either with a first-person view from the cockpit or with a third-person camera. The interaction scheme is adapted for gamepads and uses Sensor of Interest (SOI) selection with modifier buttons to increase the number of available commands without remembering an abundance of keys; however, the button assignments are completely changeable for HOTAS systems. The game uses a physics flight model for rotorcraft, and the arsenal is not automatically replenished as you complete missions.
