Game Description
Highway 11 is a psychological horror game in which the only way to break out of an endless loop is extreme concentration. The story begins at a deserted crossroads, from where all paths inevitably lead to the starting point. The vehicle moves autonomously, leaving the protagonist the role of a passive observer. The main task is to carefully study the environment for the slightest deviations from the usual route. Any change, be it a displaced road sign or an unusual sound, is a clue.
At each intersection, a fateful decision must be made: whether something anomalous was noticed. The mechanics of Highway 11 require you to accurately determine the presence or absence of deviations. A sequence of 11 correct conclusions allows you to finally leave the ominous highway. However, even a single mistake completely resets the progress made and returns you to the beginning of the loop. To facilitate the observation process, it is possible to control the passage of time, slowing it down for detailed analysis or speeding it up in familiar areas.
The project does not rely on sudden frightening moments, but on creating an oppressive feeling of anxious discomfort. The visual style emphasizes the atmosphere of liminal spaces, where familiar landscapes cause irrational anxiety. The absence of direct threats or scenes of violence shifts the focus to internal experiences. All the horror is concentrated not in graphic effects, but in the mind, forced to constantly doubt its own perception of reality. The soundtrack only enhances this feeling, using subtle changes in background noise.
