Holder of Place is a dark sci-fi roguelike auto battler where the main task is to gather a squad of unique followers to confront an ancient evil. Each playthrough takes the wanderer deep into a dying world, offering a series of intense combat encounters and opportunities for strategic choice. The process comes down to a set of various follower cards and their location in the squad. After this, all that remains is to watch the automatic battles with waves of enemies, whose strength is constantly increasing. Unpredictable events and tactical decisions along the way make each run unique, and the entire journey leads to the final confrontation with the Dragon.

Events unfold in a long-dead kingdom, which is consumed by a primeval darkness released by a young dragon. The protagonist’s goal is to reach the very heart of these lands in order to stop the spread of darkness and defeat the monsters hiding in the ruins. The gameplay in Holder of Place invites you to explore a dark science-fantasy world, gathering a squad of more than 150 unique teammates and artifacts. Each of them has special traits that allow for countless combinations and synergies to overcome increasingly difficult challenges.

The wanderer will have to go through eerie dreams, ruins of ancient battlefields and enclaves of secret cults. Beyond the battles, the project reveals deeper mysteries related to the hero’s past life and his lost love in a fallen kingdom. The narrative gradually reveals the true origin of the Dragon himself, which adds additional intrigue to the story. For those looking for a special challenge, the ever-changing Reliquary mode offers unique modifiers for each run and tests your tactical skill to the limit.
