Game Description
ISLANDERS: New Shores is a game that revolves around building settlements on a series of randomly generated islands. This project develops the city-building framework, focusing on simplicity, but adding more mechanics and content. Players will have to choose between two formats: High Score, which rewards strategic efficiency, and Sandbox, which removes score limits for free creativity.
The main activity is the correct placement of buildings to accumulate points, which opens up access to more advanced structures from the inventory. Every decision has a direct impact on the potential for further development on the island. The world of ISLANDERS: New Shores consists of 50 different island generators, providing variety over multiple sessions. Gamers can explore 6 biomes and use over 44 types of structures to populate the land, with each building having 4 color options.
The scoring system is comprehensive, taking into account factors such as line of sight between buildings, distance bonuses, and even inter-island strategies that connect separate landmasses. Progress opens up access to Boons - one-time abilities that provide certain tactical advantages in gameplay. The title includes a special photo mode that provides tools for shooting layouts with customizable filters and a rotating camera for taking pictures. The Twitch function is integrated for streamers, allowing them to directly interact with the audience during an active gaming session. An original soundtrack consisting of 75 minutes of music accompanies the process of building settlements.
