Jump Space is a team-based first-person shooter game designed for teams of up to 4 people crewing one starship. The gameplay involves completing specific tasks in space. Gamers seamlessly switch between controlling the ship, exploring locations on foot, and moving outside the vehicle when entering airless space. Maintaining the operational condition and upgrading the overall starship is a key activity within the gameplay.

In Jump Ship, teams will take part in combat encounters that take place both on planetary surfaces and in the vacuum of space. Collecting materials by searching the area allows you to obtain components to repair the ship and upgrade its systems. The missions contain procedurally generated elements to provide variety between playthroughs. Although the project was created primarily for joint actions, its mechanics allow operations to be performed alone.

Coordination of gamers’ actions is a factor in overcoming difficulties and achieving the goals of tasks within the game. The team must work together to manage the starship’s systems during flights and battles. Adapting the equipment of the device using the found components makes it possible to customize its characteristics to specific needs or emerging threats. The continuous cycle includes moving to operational locations, performing reconnaissance or skirmish missions, monitoring the ship’s condition, and preparing for the next jump.
