Game Description
Khaligrad is a turn-based tactical confrontation that immerses you in the realities of a protracted military campaign, where the main focus is shifted from large-scale battles to the management of an individual battalion. The protagonist, in the role of a recently arrived officer, is faced with the need to make difficult decisions in conditions of a total lack of resources. Each mission is not only a combat encounter on a detailed map, but also a severe test of management. The process of warfare requires the use of terrain features to organize ambushes and achieve tactical superiority. Units consist of individual fighters who are subject to demoralization, and their survival directly depends on competent command and timely supplies.
The story is set in 1442 amid a bitter conflict for control of a key city and its valuable oil fields. A choice must be made between two sides: the aggressive Wallcross empire with limited supplies, or the defensive Casanoi alliance, whose numerous armies lack quality equipment. Depending on successes or failures on the battlefield, the narrative changes direction, opening up access to different missions. However, the main enemy in Khaligrad is the war itself, forcing the officer to constantly resolve management issues:
caring for wounded soldiers after each battle. distribution of scarce food and medicine supplies. providing personnel with weapons, ammunition and fuel. maintaining the morale of soldiers under conditions of continuous stress.
