Game Description

Let Them Trade presents a system for creating an economic network of cities. The player’s task is to establish settlements to produce and trade materials found throughout the map. It is he who decides where to place buildings, while each city independently manages the needs of residents and maintains its own budget. The central structure, the castle, can be improved over time, and it is also necessary to organize the protection of trade routes from robbers attracted by the generated income.

The economic model in Let Them Trade gives cities the ability to operate with a certain amount of independence. These settlements automatically trade resources among themselves, creating a flow of goods throughout the map. The gamer receives a percentage of the taxes collected from these business transactions. A settlement’s profit influences the amount of tax paid, with more affluent settlements contributing more. The happiness of citizens is another factor, because a satisfied population ensures high fees, increasing revenue.

The main task is to protect cities from robbers attracted by the accumulation of valuables. The central lock can be used to purchase items needed for all sorts of upgrades. Strategic decisions determine when to sell specific products for immediate profit and when to hold onto them for better times. The game offers a variety of scenarios, each of which introduces different starting conditions and challenges, creating unique situations to play through.
