Game Description

MateEngine is a desktop program that projects an interactive 3D character onto the player’s screen. The project is created with support for the VRM model format, which allows gamers to import their own personalized avatars for display. These digital characters display a range of idle animations and can be physically moved to any location on the desktop by dragging the mouse. The avatar can also be placed directly on top of the active window, where it will remain and observe the user’s actions on the screen.

Avatar interaction goes beyond simple placement. Inside the MateEngine, the model is programmed to track the cursor’s path across the screen, with its eyes, head and spine moving in unison to follow it. If the gamer moves the pointer into close proximity to the model’s hands, the hero performs an animation trying to grab the cursor. Additionally, pointing the mouse at specific areas of the body, such as the head or abdomen, triggers certain programmed reactions and gestures.

The hero has additional abilities and alternative states that can be activated during game interaction. The model is capable of performing dance routines that start automatically when audio is played from a user-authorized program. This game allows you to communicate with your digital companion through a chat feature powered by local AI to exchange simple messages. Dragging a hero onto the taskbar forces him into a resting pose, while holding the cursor over his feet turns him into a physically smaller version of himself.
