Game Description
Moonlighter 2: The Endless Vault challenges the player to explore procedurally generated dimensions to collect valuable relics while confronting hostile creatures. Once in the village of Tresna, the gamer alternates forays into dungeons with commerce. Such trips present a balance of risk and reward: deep exploration of locations promises more treasures, but also carries the risk of losing all the collected goods. Survival requires overcoming these dangers to return with a backpack full of artifacts to sell.
After each expedition, the focus shifts to running the store. The resulting loot is displayed in a personal establishment, requiring the gamer to negotiate and strategically set prices to secure profitable deals. Profit from trading is the main driver of progress in Moonlighter 2: The Endless Vault. The proceeds can be used to purchase improved weapons and armor, or reinvested in the businesses of other citizens, which is necessary to revitalize the local community.
Investing in local Tresna businesses, such as the blacksmith’s shop or the witch’s shop, directly contributes to the development of the city. A thriving community attracts new residents and, as a result, more potential buyers. The Infinite Vault itself is an artifact that represents the central challenge of this project, testing commercial acumen through highly profitable trading sessions. Overcoming his challenges brings significant improvements to the city, creating a system where business success fuels the development of the settlement and opens up new gaming opportunities.
