Game Description
MotionRec follows the journey of a robot named Rec as he explores a destroyed world. The main task of this mechanical protagonist is to restore records of a lost civilization. Moving through the levels is carried out using a unique ability that allows you to record the trajectory of your own movements, and then play them back to overcome obstacles. This mechanic opens up space for creative puzzle solving, because you can record both a regular walk or jump, and more complex sequences of actions using environmental elements.
The gameplay is based on solving spatial problems. To reach inaccessible platforms or cross wide chasms, you must first record the desired trajectory in a safe area, and then activate it in the right place. Reproducing movements allows the hero to literally float through the air, defying gravity. However, the number of replays in flight is limited and is only replenished after landing on a solid surface, which adds an element of strategic planning to MotionRec’s gameplay.
The world that Rek explores is filled not only with secrets, but also with dangers. After the disappearance of organic life, the planet was taken over by other machines, and now they pose a threat to the little robot archivist. Overcoming levels, gamers will have to be smart to avoid traps and hostile mechanisms. Visually, the project is made in the style of pixel graphics, emphasizing the atmosphere of desolation and retrofuturism.
