My Little Spider invites you to fill out Bugopedia, an extensive catalog of over 50 species of insects. To find everything from the common blue blowfly to the beautiful monarch, you’ll have to keep a close eye on the in-game clock, as many species only appear at certain times. This difficult task is performed by a charming pet spider, who has taken up residence right on your desktop. He independently weaves a web and catches beetles flying by while the gamer goes about his business. However, to catch particularly rare specimens, intervention will be required, since the spider will signal for help upon noticing valuable prey.
A successful hunt is rewarded with entomological coins, which serve as local currency. The money earned is spent in the store on all kinds of improvements and decorative items. The My Little Spider project allows you to purchase fun hats, new colors, and unique web decorations such as Halloween trinkets for your companion. In addition to visual changes, practical upgrades are also available that increase the catching speed or the chance of encountering rare species of insects. An additional source of income is a variety of tasks that require you to find creatures of a certain type or size.
New areas are gradually opening up for exploration; in total, more than 5 unique travel locations are available. Each of them has its own set of inhabitants and creates a peaceful atmosphere conducive to the meditative process. This simulator is an unobtrusive adventure where the main emphasis is on collecting and quietly observing the life of a little virtual friend, who sometimes even takes breaks for a short nap, adding even more charm to what is happening.
