Game Description
Neon Inferno is a hybrid side-scroller whose gameplay is an explosive combination of 2D run-and-gun and gallery shooter. The basis of the combat system is the ability to fire at opponents who are simultaneously in the foreground and in the background. Tactical depth is provided by the Bullet Time mechanic, which allows you to deflect enemy projectiles, as well as the ability to hijack vehicles to pursue targets.
At the center of the story are two hitmen - Angelo Morano and Mariana Vitti. Acting on the side of a crime syndicate known as the Family, they carry out missions to eliminate competitors. The Neon Inferno project sets them the task of establishing complete control over the capital’s battlefield. The heroes have many upgrades and different types of weapons in their arsenal to shift the balance of power in their favor.
The setting is dystopian New York in 2055, mired in lawlessness and internecine wars between various factions. The cityscapes, made in the style of pixel art, represent a neon cyberpunk metropolis. The atmosphere of decline and constant conflict is complemented by carefully selected musical accompaniment, emphasizing the tension of what is happening.
Each mission culminates in a unique boss encounter with multiple phases and a variety of attacks, putting your skills to the test. For those who want to share this experience with a friend, a cooperative mode is provided. The most hardcore challenge will be the arcade format, which requires you to complete the entire journey on one credit.
