Game Description
NeverAwake is a 2D side-scrolling action platformer with beautiful hand-drawn graphics about a girl named Rem. She is still a child of 10 years old and suffers from regular nightmares in which she strives to conquer everything that brought her resentment and pain in real life. Her opponents are not the classic monsters from banal dreams, but those who were somehow able to damage her psyche. These are school friends and just classmates, dentists who hurt when they pulled out teeth and even yard dogs that try to bite her every morning when she goes to school.
The enemies in NeverAwake are drawn in such a way that they inspire fear - they are disfigured, large in size and always looking to attack and kill. You can resist them using a variety of firearms and magical weapons. In total, there are about 80 unique levels that are not repeated among themselves. They are full of dangerous mobs, but bosses pose an even greater threat - they appear every few locations and have a unique style of behavior and attack animation.
To cope with them you will have to take an individual approach. A variety of ranged weapons can help in battles. As you progress, you can also level up the protagonist, which will make it possible to unlock new perks and create entire builds. Abilities must be chosen in such a way that their properties are combined and synergized, which will allow them to deal much more damage and increase the character’s survivability.
