Delving into the surreal world of subconscious nightmares, NeverAwake FLASHBACK offers a confrontation with distorted childhood memories. The project’s universe is filled with grotesque opponents, which are materialized phobias. The monsters are not demons, but hated vegetables, frightening dentists and other traumatic images from the past of the young heroine named Rem. On this dangerous journey through the recesses of consciousness, she is accompanied by her faithful plush companion Gabe-chan. Their joint goal is to regain peace of mind by defeating the creatures of the night terrors over 80 randomly constructed stages.
Confronting monsters is based on a flexible equipment system. Before each entry into a randomly generated level, you must create a combat set of three types of weapons and three accessories. This variability in NeverAwake FLASHBACK allows you to create hundreds of combinations for different fighting styles. To survive in chaotic battles where enemies attack from all sides, you will need:

Eliminating single threats at a distance with targeted fire. Hit close targets with powerful volleys with a wide spread. Clearing space from clusters of enemies with area attacks. Active maneuvering to avoid numerous projectiles. Using accessories to enhance attack or increase defense. Combining different weapons to gain a tactical advantage.
