Game Description
Paracom is a tactical horror role-playing game in which managing a task force is complicated not only by encounters with monsters, but also by psychological tension within the squad. Each soldier has his own point of view and may question the commander’s orders if he considers them illogical or irrational. The anomalous zone itself is a living mind that changes its behavior in response to the actions of the players. Aggressive clearing of an area provokes hostility, while passive surveillance creates other, equally serious consequences for the mission.
Under the command of the gamer is the mobile task force Gamma Fireteam from the Seven-Headed Dragon division. The main task is to investigate a mysterious incident and search for the missing squad in a place where reality is constantly distorted. Paracom’s combat system requires a balanced approach, offering, instead of mindless shooting, pinpoint targeting at vulnerable parts of the exomorphs' body to slow them down or immobilize them. At the same time, ammunition and equipment are extremely limited, and there is no opportunity to replenish supplies, which forces you to carefully plan each shot.
Exploring locations involves solving puzzles that allow for several options, including the use of brute force, typical of special forces. Deviation from the main route is rewarded by discovering secret bosses, hidden types of enemies and additional information about the world of the project. Every decision made, from how to solve a riddle to how to react to the behavior of your allies, affects the development of the plot. This nonlinearity opens up access to one of five endings, radically changing the perception of the events that occurred during repeated playthroughs.
