Game Description

Pixel Ripped 1978: An Atari Adventure is a virtual adventure, the plot of which is built around the confrontation between two heroines and the villain Cyblin Lord. The narrative is split between two realities. In one of them, the protagonist is Dot, a character in the in-game world, and in the other, her creator named Bug, an Atari employee. The antagonist interferes with Bug’s past, trying to change her creative plans and prevent the creation of a happy universe for Dot. To restore the creative power of her creator, Dot will have to travel through classic projects from the Atari era to find new abilities and return everything to its place.

The gameplay is based on the concept of moving between dimensions and constantly switching between perspectives. Interaction with the environment in Pixel Ripped 1978: An Atari Adventure directly affects the passage. For example, solving a puzzle in the 3D world of Dot could pave the way for a 2D character in the arcade segment. Progress depends on an integrated approach to solving problems in both realities.

Ways to influence the environment:

Adding pixels—modifying objects to open up new paths or interactions. Collect collectibles - find gold cartridges and 14 types of melee weapons. Character Distraction - Using the environment to avoid detection in the office. Prototype testing - unlocking new abilities for Dot by debugging old games.

Particular attention is paid to recreating the atmosphere of the Atari office in Sunnyvale, allowing you to immerse yourself in the golden era of the entertainment industry. Boss battles are reimagined versions of cult classics like Breakout or Pong, with the worlds of Dot and Bug merging together for a team-up battle with Cyblin Lord. The project is filled with light humor, references to the pop culture of the time and many interactive objects that react to user actions. The story does not offer a historical reconstruction, but rather a tribute to the feeling of first steps into the world of video games.
