Redgar: The Space Viking places the player in a setting that combines elements from different time periods. The character navigates castle-like starships and neon fortresses from above. This universe is an alternate history where futuristic technology and medieval aesthetics coexist. The action takes place over a series of levels, including spaceship corridors and dungeons. The main activity is to navigate these locations and confront hostile inhabitants.
Combat encounters in Redgar: The Space Viking offer straightforward method choices. The gamer can initiate a frontal attack, using available weapons to eliminate groups of opponents in open conflict. In contrast, the stealth system allows you to silently eliminate individual targets, which makes it possible to move through areas without disturbing all enemies. The level design of this project supports both paths, leaving the decision about the method of passage entirely up to the gamer. Each approach changes the way the game solves the problems it poses.
The character has access to a varied arsenal, mixing classic weapons with advanced equipment. Melee weapons include swords, maces, and spears for direct physical combat.
