Retrace the Light is a 2.5D action-adventure gameplay based on the unique Dimensional Return mechanic. This ability allows you to instantly teleport to previously visited points, which opens up wide tactical possibilities. Using this power becomes the key not only to outflanking opponents or launching surprise attacks, but also to finding creative solutions to complex puzzles built into the environment.
The events take place back in 3323, where humanity, together with the superintelligent artificial intelligence Primus, launched the Meta-Mirror project to heal people’s emotional traumas. The main character is Enforcer Decem, an agent whose task is to penetrate the Mirror Labyrinths generated by human consciousness. In the world of Retrace the Light, the protagonist, amnesiac after being seriously injured, must relearn his skills and uncover the mysteries surrounding his ambitious project.
In the depths of the mental worlds, Decem will have to face powerful Mirror Nightmares - entities born from obsessions. Enemies range from colossal mechs that wreak havoc to cunning enemies that can change shape or hide from sight. Defeating each of them requires careful analysis of behavior and well-timed use of abilities to exploit their vulnerabilities, turning battles into an intense challenge.
The combat style can be flexibly customized thanks to the Module system, opening up new approaches to combat. By defeating bosses, gamers gain access to 7 main Modules and their variations, and by exploring locations - to more than 20 minor ones. Living on the Motherboard with allies and engaging in dialogues with them, Decem influences the development of the plot with his decisions, which ultimately leads to one of several possible endings to the story.
