Game Description
ROUTINE begins with an exploration of a silent lunar base, an object built according to the canons of ideas about the future from the 80s. The initial search for information quickly gives way to the direct need to survive in the face of an unknown threat. A hostile presence confronts the player, identifying them as the main danger inside the abandoned complex. The tension mounts as they realize their complete isolation and the fact that every shadow may hide mortal danger. Each discovery raises more and more questions about the events that took place, forcing us to move only forward through the deserted station, which has become a death trap.
The path takes you through contrasting sectors of the lunar complex, including abandoned shopping centers and decaying living quarters. In these zones, it is necessary to carefully study the environment in order to reconstruct a picture of the events that preceded arrival. The gaming experience in ROUTINE is created using full body control, in-story audio and a minimalistic interface to maintain an oppressive atmosphere. The gameplay relies on immersion, forcing you to listen carefully to every rustle and analyze the situation without the usual prompts on the screen, collecting scattered data from the terminals bit by bit.
The Astronaut Assistance Tool, or C.A.T., is a vital piece of equipment for interacting with the world. It provides access to key terminals, helps you navigate in space and allows you to find important evidence. When faced with danger, the game encourages you to run, hide, or try to defend yourself, but direct confrontation is almost always fatal. This sci-fi horror project makes you feel constantly vulnerable, where C.A.T. serves as a last resort of defense. The technological tool is more of a scanner than a full-fledged weapon, only providing a fragile chance at a critical moment.
