Sacred 3 changed its genre dramatically. Despite the radical changes, the project retained some of the advantages of the series, such as the ability to play online with a friend (this can also be done on a pirate account). Both local battles and those battles that take place over the Internet are supported. Network play allows up to 4 users to have fun at the same time.

Despite the possibility of free online play, gamers will not be able to run around the open world together. In Sacred 3, the developers abandoned it. In return, they offered users to complete individual levels alone or in co-op. At the same time, the stages themselves are non-linear, which somewhat increases replayability. If the original and the sequel were isometric RPGs with an emphasis on battles, exploring locations, leveling up and collecting loot, then the threequel turned into an arcade action game with role-playing elements. The events of the title take place 1000 years after the end of the plot of the very first part. New fighters have replaced the old heroes. And they acquired several skill trees at once. In the continuation there are 5 classes (characters): Safiri - a Safiri warrior named Marak, who fights with two-handed weapons in close combat; Ancarian - a girl spearman Alithea, as the name implies, prefers polearms; Seraphim - a paladin of the seraphim Claire , who knows how to fight with a sword and use celestial magic; Khukuri - a Kukuri archer who calls himself Vaja, likes to keep his distance and shoot opponents from afar; Malakhim - an assassin of the Malakhim Keaton relies on his curved blades, dirty tricks and the ability to teleport.
