Shui’s Odyssey is a puzzle game that combines text with images, challenging the user to piece together memory fragments. The process focuses on the experiences of patients with Alzheimer’s disease, using visual illusions as the main tool for reconstructing events. Gamers will have to piece together the truth of their personal history. The narrative that emerges from these actions spans 3 generations of one family.

Xiao Shui’s journey in search of lost fragments of the past. The story of three generations of one family, told through puzzles. An exploration of the timeless themes of love, family ties and friendship. Immersion in the atmosphere of a significant historical era.

You guide the main character, Xiao Shui, through a plot that explores the connections of love, family and friendship. Shui’s Odyssey is set against the backdrop of a specific historical period, which shapes the circumstances of the characters. As gameplay progresses, a series of visual puzzles are solved that function like an unrolling scroll. Each solved puzzle reveals another piece of the narrative, gradually bringing the full picture into focus.

This project conveys its story through original hand-drawn illustrations and animations. His screenplay is based on documented human experiences, which provides the basis for the screenplay. Gameplay mechanics are integrated into the narrative, and point-and-click action and verbal challenge elements are used to move the story forward. Each action contributes to the reconstruction of the central plot from its disparate parts.
