Stygian: Outer Gods immerses gamers in a world where existence itself is questioned, combining elements of a role-playing game. You have to understand the thousand-year-old mystery, monitor the hero’s condition and confront the entities called the Outer Gods. Supply management is key here, because every step and choice can affect further progress. The plot takes place in the universe of Stygian: Reign of the Old Ones, allowing you to learn about the events leading up to the Black Day.
The protagonist arrives in the settlement of Kingsport with a companion in search of his missing father and to investigate the secrets of this area after a shipwreck. This incident becomes only a prologue to future trials associated with incomprehensible forces. In the title Stygian: Outer Gods, the use of the character’s skills and information about the occult from a companion becomes the key to being able to prevent the appearance of otherworldly entities or plunge into madness.
The study covers the streets and surrounding areas of Kingsport, a place inspired by the works of H. P. Lovecraft. You can find paths, gain access to closed areas, collect items and interact with mechanisms to move forward. Available areas include village buildings, a remarkable mansion, mines, cemeteries, misty forests and a lighthouse building. Survival will require confronting threats and environmental hazards that cause physical damage and affect the hero’s sanity. Gameplay offers choice: the player unlocks abilities, finds artifacts, and determines how to interact with the world.
