Game Description
SubwaySim 2 is a public transport simulator focusing on the German subway systems. Gamers drive trains on 3 specific routes: U1 and U3 in Berlin, and the U3 line in Hamburg. The project immerses users directly into the urban environment of these two German cities. First- and third-person views are available to control squads and observe the environment in this single-player title; gaming perspectives are varied. The simulation supports controller control and allows modifications.
In SubwaySim 2, gamers will have to deal with scheduled transportation. The core gameplay involves transporting passengers between stations according to set schedules, managing functions to follow the schedule. Unexpected events, such as track disruptions or signal changes, introduce challenges during virtual work shifts, requiring adjustments to maintain movement. Career mode offers a structure for sequentially completing gameplay challenges.
This simulator includes a model of the Berlin metro network, focusing on lines U1 and U3. This section covers a total route length of 30 kilometers, connecting 26 separate stations. Users guide the train through underground tunnels and along ground sections of the track within the city. Iconic places, such as the Oberbaumbrücke Bridge, are part of the recreated geography of the route. Two train models are available for use in the simulation environment. Gamers can take control of the A3L in the A3L92 configuration, a model linked to the history of Berlin’s transport.
