Game Description
The Classrooms is a retro-styled psychological indie survival horror game with a first-person perspective and a VHS filter overlaid on top of the screen. The project stands out for its procedural generation of levels. They are liminal spaces. The map is created anew with each new playthrough. According to the developers, their creation can generate billions of possible variations. The point of the gameplay is to explore the entities that live in the stages. They all have unique properties and mechanics. Information about creatures and phenomena is entered into the codex, like other useful data. An indie game has an inventory. Found keys, obtained items and equipment are stored there.
The game Classrooms, as its name suggests, takes place inside a school. The events shown in it unfold in 1996. One day, Robert Chen’s younger sister goes missing. Other students also disappear. The man took a video camera and went to the educational institution where the children studied to investigate their disappearance. When the hero went inside, he soon realized that he was in a maze of corridors and classrooms. There are anomalies in these rooms. Some are harmless and just look strange, while others pose a serious danger. The protagonist can walk, swim, pick up, use and throw things, turn on a flashlight, interact with the environment, and peek around corners.
