The story begins with a group of heroes receiving invitations to a certain Murder Castle, where serial maniac Henry Holmes operated. The possibility of free online play is represented by cooperative playthrough. For example, you need to vote for a certain action performed by a character.

While exploring the mansion, the heroes constantly feel that they are being watched. Unknown people manage the process and manipulate the characters, as a result of which the protagonists find themselves in deadly situations. The online game The Dark Pictures Anthology: The Devil in Me allows you to take control of one of five heroes. The characters are Keith Wilder, Charles Lonnite, Erin Keenan, Jamie Tigran and Mark Nestor. Each adventure hero has his own character and skills that help him survive. Depending on the decisions made, the relationships between team members change. Certain situations lead to the permanent death of the hero. If he doesn’t survive, he’s out of the story forever.
