Game Description
THE GOOD OLD DAYS is the story of a young man named Sean who is suddenly faced with the harsh reality of his father’s debt. The events take place in the small town of Arostia, where the protagonist will not only have to find a way to pay off creditors, but also rescue his comrades from trouble. His friends, Foodie, Bruce and Doc, are locked in the dungeons, which turns a financial problem into a real rescue mission and a risky adventure. Sean, along with his team, known as Nugiz, must overcome all difficulties, relying on ingenuity and mutual assistance.
The world of the project is made in the style of 16-bit graphics and offers vast locations filled with secrets for exploration. To achieve the goal, gamers will not only have to fight opponents, but also actively look for different ways to earn money. Funds can be obtained by completing side quests, which, in turn, affect the ending of the story. In addition, THE GOOD OLD DAYS provides other methods of obtaining money: from gambling and lottery to completing special test stages and finding hiding places.
The gameplay is built on the principles of metroidvania, where exploration of the world is closely connected with the unique abilities of the characters. Not only is Sean given control, but also his three rescued friends, each of whom has special skills necessary to overcome obstacles and access previously inaccessible areas of Arostia. The ability to freely switch between members of the Nugiz squad allows you to find innovative solutions and fully explore the environment, imbued with a nostalgic atmosphere and references to the pop culture of the past.
