Game Description
In The Hive, the player takes control of various insects. There are several types of units under your control: workers, one large queen, a healer, reconnaissance, a kind of tank, and several small warriors united in small groups. The latter are rifle and infantry detachments. Battles are fought in various locations: fields, oases, volcanic landscapes, tombs, on water and under water. The user can expect 10 levels, designed to take 10-12 hours to complete.
In case of death, a menu with several choices appears in front of the user. You can exit or replay the mission. There are no saves, so when you restart the game you will have to start over. Otherwise, there is the usual strategy gameplay: buildings are erected, an army is recruited and battles are fought. There are training levels where the user learns the basics under the guidance of an insectoid advisor. The role of curator is an evil cockroach who dreams of taking over the world. The enemies are bipedal reptiles, mixed with skeletons. The developers did not limit themselves to strategy, but also added puzzles and quests.
DNA is extracted from defeated opponents. Manipulating genetic material allows you to get points for pumping up troops. In the game you can also look for treasures and various hiding places - crypts and chests. Relics found in ruins can be disenchanted or equipped on fighters. This is how bonuses to attack or defense appear, and new advanced units are unlocked.
