Game Description
The Jester and the Madman is a narrative-rich point-and-click adventure that combines Lovecraftian horror with a ’90s aesthetic. The visual component of the project was made using the digitization of real photographs, which gives the picture a unique and surreal look. The passage is entirely focused on the methodical exploration of detailed locations, interaction with suspicious characters and solving logical problems. The project completely eliminates the combat system and time limits, offering to focus on intellectual challenges and immersion in a depressing story full of secrets and paranoia.
The story introduces former FBI agent Rick Moreton and nurse Holly Bardot. Their paths cross within the walls of the mysterious Kingdom Hospital, where Rick is imprisoned after being kidnapped. In The Jester and the Madman, the heroes must join forces to expose a secret cult that has infiltrated the ranks of the intelligence services.
Investigating cases and solving puzzles:
Conducting dialogues with characters to collect information. Exploring locations and searching for key items. Combining found objects in the inventory. Solving logic puzzles built into the environment. Studying notes and documents to advance the story. Switch between two protagonists for different perspectives. Exposing the activities of a secret cult within the walls of the clinic.
