Game Description

The Monster Breeder puts under player control an establishment that specializes in breeding combat creatures. This strategic simulation involves overseeing the production of hybrids for gladiator matches. Income and fame are achieved by training creatures that can operate effectively in the arena. The game instructs the gamer to lead a creature breeding house under the auspices of the Empire. This position opens up access to tools for shaping the properties of creatures before sending them into battle.

Methods for changing characteristics include surgery, the use of magical items and alchemical compounds. However, excessive interference with the physiology of The Monster Breeder’s creatures can provoke an ailment called abomination disease, which shortens their lifespan and temporarily makes them unfit for battle. The variety of creature species found in the Empire provides valuable traits; Mammals, reptiles and insects provide material for selection.

By undertaking expeditions, the game mechanics allow you to search for new species, although such journeys involve significant costs and risks. The offspring obtained by crossing inherit the characteristics and abilities of their ancestors at random. Further improvement of properties is achieved by using special items: blood infusions, rune stones, magic scrolls and organ implantation. Fights in the arena represent the final test of prepared creatures. These encounters do not always end in death; non-lethal fights, of course, bring in less income.
