The Remains and The Residue is a psychological adventure where the line between fiction and reality is rapidly thinning. The story begins in a quiet room, where the flickering TV screen and the creaking of the door create an oppressive feeling of constant surveillance. The protagonist will have to immerse himself in fragmentary stories, putting together a complete picture from fragments of someone else’s past. Here every detail matters, and fictional worlds begin to dangerously leak into reality, forcing you to doubt what is happening. This linear story invites you to relive someone else’s memories, which may not be what they seem at first glance.

The central figure of the plot is the famous writer Janus Brennhart, giving an interview after the release of his latest book. It is this conversation that becomes the catalyst that sends him on a journey through the back streets of his own memory, to events that he himself can no longer remember. The Remains and The Residue explores these memories from a first-person perspective, solving puzzles and progressing through the story. The retro style of the visual design only enhances the disturbing and mysterious atmosphere that accompanies the hero throughout his journey into himself.
